Motorola
V3
|
|
| Overview |
|
I gave the Moto V3 a
spin. I loved the slim form factor, light weight and the way I
could just stick it in my shirt pocket. The feel said quality, the
keys were easy to use and making calls was a snap. I found the
screen easy to see and use and I liked the mini USB charge port instead
of some new proprietary connector. I returned it! Read below
for my reasons.

I really wanted to keep this phone for its
form factor and I was prepared to pay full retail for it. However,
it failed me in several areas and in the end I had to return it. I
found the speakerphone could not hold a candle to the lowly LG
4500. It sounded over driven when you tried to get a decent volume
level out of it. I even tried a second phone thinking I had gotten
a defective unit. Bluetooth was maddening as it would just shut
down in the middle of a call then reconnect and disconnect
repeatedly. I tried several headsets and finally gave up on the
unit. I have seen posts indicating that there was later versions
of the firmware and that it might have solved the problems I was seeing
but I did not download and install the newer firmware since I did not
want to void my return privilege. I was disappointed in the call
quality and the signal strength. The 7100t showed better signal
strength and held calls better. Even in strong signal areas it
would drop calls unexpectedly. The battery life was far less than
I expected too. |

The form factor is great and it looks
fantastic. Perhaps newer firmware will resolve the issues I
encountered. Until that firmware is readily available and easy to
install, or comes preinstalled on the handset I would stay away from
this otherwise great looking phone. |
